We are thrilled to welcome our newest board members to the SAWS team! Their dedication, passion, and expertise will be invaluable as we continue our mission of stewarding our cherished wilderness areas.


Serving on our board is no small commitment, and we are deeply appreciative of the time and energy our new members are investing in furthering our mission. Their guidance and leadership will help shape the future of our organization, ensuring that we continue to be strong advocates for responsible stewardship and conservation.



As we embark on another exciting chapter, we look forward to working together to expand our impact, foster community engagement, and uphold the values that make our work so meaningful. Lena is a software engineer and nature artist based in Little Switzerland, NC. She currently works with the Wild Wonder Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to encouraging nature connection and conservation through curiosity, art, science, and community. Lena holds a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University and an M.S. in Information Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Passionate about environmental conservation, she is pursuing her North Carolina Environmental Education certification. In her spare time, she enjoys field sketching, birdwatching, hiking, camping, and backpacking.


Delie serves as a Program Officer for the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, focusing on community-based initiatives, the reforestation supply chain, and inclusion in the forestry sector.


Josh is originally from Cincinnati, OH and discovered conservation through Americorps and the SCA at Bear Brook State Park in New Hampshire. For the last twenty years, he has worked in various positions with Corps in Arizona, North Carolina, and public lands around the country. Josh is currently the National Saw Coordinator for American Conservation Experience and lives in Asheville, NC with his wife and two sons.


Kim's academic narrative includes a Master's of Natural Resources and Global Sustainability from Virginia Tech, a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Virginia, an A.A. in Sociology & A.S. in General Studies from Georgia State University, a Grant Writing Certificate from the University of Georgia, and an Ethical Decision-Making: Cultural & Environmental Impact Certificate from Georgetown University.


Aubree was born and raised in the mountains of southern Appalachia. Her lifelong passion for nature and wild lands stems from spending her days as a child roaming the forests of Western North Carolina, and is nurtured by doing the same today. She earned a Master’s degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina Asheville. Aubree has spent the last decade working in the nonprofit sector in food rescue programming and working to improve food access. She has a strong background in partnership management, community engagement, donor cultivation, and program development. She now resides in Michigan with her husband and daughter, and enjoys spending her time hiking, biking, gardening, cooking, and being outdoors.


Faith is a Climate Change Communication Specialist with over a decade of experience in international development and humanitarian fields across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. She is currently the Atlas of Disaster Outreach Coordinator and an Assistant Research Scientist with Rebuild by Design, focusing on innovative solutions for climate resilience. Her expertise spans climate, environmental, and health communications, with a focus on strategic storytelling, project management, and advocacy. She has also worked with organizations like Médecins Sans Frontières, leading initiatives to improve climate risk communication, managing content for international campaigns, and fostering partnerships with major donors.
