SAWS-Naval Academy Wild Crew Work Day Two in St. Mary’s Wilderness

July 19, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join SAWS and midshipmen from the US Naval Academy on July 19th to cut back vegetation and clear downed trees along the Cellar Mountain trail in St. Mary’s Wilderness. Mipshipmen from the SAWS-US Naval Academy partnership will be leading this work day as a capstone project for the SAWS Professional Training Event. We will meet at 9 am at the Smiley’s Fuel City truck stop in Raphine, VA (exit 205 on I-81). From there, we will drive to the trailhead. SAWS will provide PPE (hardhat, safety glasses and work gloves), tools and will teach proper safety and brushing techniques. Participants need to wear long pants, boots that cover the ankles, and bring a day pack with enough food and water for the day. Participation is limited to 10 people (group size limit in Wilderness) Sign up below to join us! If you have any questions, contact Eric Giebelstein ericgiebelstein@wildernessstewards.org.
